Historic interiors serve as a repository for memory. They are an intermediary, linking the past with the present, making the narrative of the historic interior a socio-cultural artifact. Unlike most artifacts, for the interior to act as an intermediary it must be inhabited and experienced. How do we protect and preserve this artifact while adapting it for current inhabitation?
