Engaging Children through Fantasy Experience

Play is crucial for a child’s quality of life, and it helps to build civil and democratic society (Hart, 2002). Since the late 19th century, designers and activists have created play environments to develop children's skills, provide opportunities for amusement, and improve social relations. As part of this history, fantasy and storytelling have proven effective in engaging children. This thesis aims to spark play through fantasy experience, encouraging children to be physically and socially active.
