Metropolis Future 100 Winners

Drexel students continue to achieve success and recognition for the annual Metropolis Future100. Nominated by their mentors and selected by Metropolis Magazine, these students are stellar examples of up-and-coming interior designers that serve as leaders in the design community. Most recently in 2022, Ala’a Alharbi and Pooja Kalavagunta featured their portfolios among top interior design graduate students across the U.S. and Canada.

As described by Metropolis, Ala’a creates “timeless designs that deliver interesting stories and prioritize well-being and sustainability.” She recently worked on a thesis that aimed to counteract loneliness by creating attachment to place through scent. View Ala'a Alharbi's portfolio.


Pooja has previously been honored with awards from HOK, Gensler, and IIDA. She recently worked on a thesis that transposed cinematic techniques into interior spaces to heighten and dramatize phenomenological experience. View Pooja Kalavagunta's portfolio.
