HOK Competitions

Drexel students have been very successful in the annual HOK Futures Design Competition. Working in pairs, they have two weeks to prepare a comprehensive design in response to the brief that is issued. In 2022 the project was an urban winery on Venice Island in the Manayunk neighborhood of Philadelphia. As a 21st century update to the area’s industrial past, the focus of the project was to support winery operations and provide event space for local art shows and creative events. Previous projects have included a health and wellness center, transit hub, community market, and education spaces.
